Two leading Tayside and Fife alcohol charities today joined forces to take their battle against substance abuse to a wider range of people. Tayside Council on Alcohol (TCA) and Fife Alcohol Support Service (FASS) have together prepared new information leaflets about the free and confidential services provided by both charities. TCA director, Frankie Claridge, said the partnership was a good way of keeping costs down for both charities. “This is definitely the way forward for organisations like ours,” she added. “We have a continuing struggle to obtain the best value for money in today’s marketplace, and this example has clearly demonstrated to both TCA and FASS just what we can jointly attain.” Jim Bett, service manager at Kirkcaldy-based FASS, said joint projects are something that could become more common in the future. Minister for public health and Dundee East MSP Shona Robison announced the partnership today at TCA’s new offices in Dundee’s Constable Street. She said, “It not only makes sense for both organisations to share in the creation of this material, but it also means they can both achieve savings in the printing as well.” Both charities have also produced material that can be used by various different nationalities, starting with Polish.
